Permission to Accelerate (Substack Writings)

When the call comes deep within you to get going, that’s your permission to move.

A New Permission Slip

So you know those inner nudges I often remind us to follow? The ones that call to us from deep within and guide us toward what’s next? Well, sometimes those nudges show up as complete sentences, like: “You have permission to accelerate.

That’s what I got recently. A new permission slip, new guidance to accelerate and move faster.

But not faster in the sense of speed — faster in the sense of breadth and capacity. Opening up more, so that I can give and receive more. Accelerating my ability to bring in more of life, to step into life more expeditiously (love this word).

From Healing to the Breathing Room

I wrote a couple of months ago about how for years, I became a hermit of sorts so that I could heal deep wounding that was taking me away from who I was. I wrote about how I dedicated many years to this long inner process, quietly removing myself from the bigger world so I could concentrate solely on what I needed to heal within.

I wrote about how I slowly worked my way through it all — every dark shadow, every wound, and eventually made my way through to a space of love, peace, appreciation, surrender, and transition into a new chapter in a space I call the breathing room.

And I’ve been in this place for a bit, enjoying the hard-earned peace, the slower pace, the heart opening, the healing — breathing in a fresh appreciation for life and the blossoming of a fresh new chapter, more in alignment with myself this time.

A New Call

But now, a new call: get going, it’s time. Time to open up and rejoin the world — no more hermit mode, no more self-isolation. It’s time to rejoin the world of the living, with a stronger, more unshakeable foundation, and greater alignment and connection with myself. I have permission to accelerate.

But what does this look like? I’m not sure exactly, and that’s part of the fun. Hermit mode has been my comfort zone for a long time, so I’m pretty sure I’ll be asked to step outside of it. I may be asked to take some risks I don’t feel ready for. I may be asked to become more visible. I may be asked to create more. I may be asked to show up in a greater, more upfront way — to stop sacrificing as much, to lead with heart more, rather than just logic. All of it feels equally fun and scary to me. And right. Because even while fear may be present, there is always something I can trust, something I can always fall back on and that is my own inner guidance.

Because there is nothing to fear when you’re guided the whole way. You just need to remember to listen and follow those nudges. However they show up.

If you’re here as I am, here’s to permission slips and continuing to move forward. 🤍 ~ C
