I know this may seem like an obvious thing we do, but I don’t think we make space or make room for what we want, as deliberately or as often as we think.
I think we often assume we already have the space — the capacity, the time, the energy, the will, the maturity. And then we find out later that if we truly want something, we have to move things around. We have to clear room for it. We have to grow within ourselves to hold it consistently. We do this almost automatically for the big milestones in life, the obvious ones. But we don’t always do the same for the less apparent dreams and desires and the new people we want to build our lives with.
For a long time, life for me felt like a “this or that.” This path or that one. This version of me or another. This thing I want or that thing I want. But more and more, I’m realizing it can be “this and this and this and this” if … I’m willing to create the room for it. Because it doesn’t just show up. I have to do the work. I have to clear the space to make it possible.
So as I lean into crafting my next chapter more intentionally than ever before, I’m noticing what that requires. For me it means reassessing where I am, what I’m carrying, and what I’m ready to make space for now. It means being more selective and more deliberate. Clearer about what truly matters and what I want to experience more of in this life and building space for that. I’m the author of my own life, after all!
For now, I’m reminded of this (and this may help you as well): space isn’t found, it’s made. And even if it takes a little time to open it up, it’s well worth the effort.
Here’s to making space for the more we want. ❤ ~ C
